Hi! My name is Daley Cline and I run for Estero High School.

This year I'll be a senior, which means every race I run this season will be one race closer to my very last one in high school, ever. As sad as that makes me, it also motivated me to work extra hard this summer to make my final cross country season a successful one.

This summer has been a busy one, but in the best way possible. It's been filled with early morning cross country practices, afternoon cross training, hanging out with friends, hitting the beach (to get rid of the infamous "spandex and sports bra tan lines" that all runners deal with) and most importantly, hanging with my team and keeping the strong bond we've always shared at Estero.

This summer my team and I have done many memorable things together, such as going to Busch Gardens, having multiple breakfast dates, having a team Taco Night, and going boating and tubing together. It's been so much fun, and I'm glad my team is close enough for all of us to hangout outside of practice.

Our girls team this year is very motivated and very excited for the upcoming season. With only 2 seniors on the team, including myself, we've had many youngsters who've stepped up to the plate and have worked extremely hard this summer. I'm so proud of all of the work and miles my team has put in and am anxious to see what we can accomplish this season!

Individually, I could not be more determined to reach my goals this year. Unfortunately, last summer I suffered a knee injury, and was only able to train with my team for 2 weeks before our first cross country race of my junior year. Luckily, this summer, it's been much different. I've been training for a solid 12 weeks free of injury and as healthy and strong as ever!

Our first race is fast approaching, with less than three weeks until we line up on the starting line for my very last, first race of my high school career! Our first meet is the DDD Invite, at our home course, Estero Park.

This meet is very special to my team and all of Estero High School, because we will be dedicating the race to our beloved coach, Coach Sommer, who passed away in May. It will no doubt be an emotional and memorable day for all of us. It will be hard for us to run our very first season without Coach with us, but we know he'll be watching and with us every step of the way!

All in all, I hope everyone is as pumped and motivated as I am for the 2015 cross country season, and for all the seniors out there, let's make our last year count!
