Beecher boys cross country runner Grant Nykaza finished second
overall at the Class 1A state meet Saturday morning at Peoria's
Detweiller Park.

BEECHER | Forgive Grant Nykaza if he's a little more
self-centered this year. The same goes for Mike Polzin and Aaron
Borgman.

The Illiana Christian boys and girls cross country teams are
starting to get used to this trip.

LANSING | T.F. South runner Dylan Angell did not have a lot of
time to savor his earning a trip to the Class 3A state meet.

As a seventh grader, Lexi Schatz was one of the top small-school
runners in Indiana, finishing seventh in her division at the middle
school cross country meet in Carmel.

TERRE HAUTE | A state medal would've been better, but a $1,000
check for his school and a plaque were a nice consolation
prize.

TERRE HAUTE | There were two boys races at the state cross
country finals Saturday.

CHICAGO HEIGHTS | Slow and steady hasn't yet won the race, but
it's helped Noah Brim place himself among the leaders several times
this season.

The New Prairie Cross Country Semistate, complete with its
hills, grassy plains, river beds and woods, has been called a
mini-state meet.
