Athlete Blogs - Adam Bradtmueller - Sailor's Senior Season #1

Hi, my name is Adam Bradtmueller and I am a senior at Sarasota High school. I am very excited to be entering my senior year.  It seems like only yesterday I attended my first Cross Country practice as a freshman.

This summer has been a great one and it is sad to see it end.  I have been slowly building up my base and regaining the confidence I had lost due to injury last year (stress fracture).  The greatest part of my summer training has been running alongside of my teammates watching them grow and develop as runners with me. I am very proud of how hard everyone has worked and it will be great to watch all the hard work pay off this season.

One of the highlights of my summer was summer training camp in the mountains that our team goes on every year. This year we went to Ellijay Georgia (an area we have traveled to before) and ran on some tough trails.  One surprise this year is that not a single runner on the GUYS team got lost… step up your game Sota Girls☺.  I am proud of that fact considering I am notorious for getting turned around in complicated trails. I had a blast throughout the entire trip.   However, it was sad to see it end as that was my last Sarasota High School Cross Country trip.

Entering the season my teammates and I are very excited to make the jump from 3A to 4A.  Even though we lost our 2nd fastest runner from last year, Zack Summerall ;), we feel that our team has grown and can be much better than last year.  We are striving to win our region and make a dent in the top 5 at states.

As an individual I am very excited to move up to 4A.  It will be great to race against new competitors. I have not raced against some of the top guys in 4a a whole lot so it will be interesting to see how it plays out. I am eager to start racing again, since last season was derailed by a stress fracture. I’m looking for redemption.Thank you for reading my blog and good luck to everyone this season.

P.S. - Thank you to the folks at DyestatFl for giving me the opportunity to blog for them this year.
