Earlier this week, Plant held their 2nd Annual Legends of the Bay Postal 1600.  The newly annual event is held the week after the State Cross Country Finals and is decidely low-key.  Last year, 20 participants took to the track for the opportunity to rip a fast 1600, and this year 33 runners particpated in the hand-timed event held by Plant's Coach, Bryan Garcia.

Coming off a 12th place finish in 16:19 as second man for Plant, senior  Quasan Markowski ran a 3 second PR in 4:20.9 for the events fastest time in 2015.  Last year, Markowski was the 4th fastest finisher, in 4:39.  He subsequently finished 7th at the State Track finals in the 1600, going 4:23.76.  Last year's Legends of the Bay Postal was won by Plant's Jack Guyton, now a University of Florida freshman, in 4:25.9.

According to Coach Garcia, Quasan split 62, 69,69, 60.  This is a real good indicator the uncommitted Quasan is ready to go even faster on the track in just a few months.

Rounding out the top 3 finishers for the guys was 1A State XC runner-up Luke Peterson in 4:22.9 (5-second PR), and Plant's Rob Leverone, 10th in the 2015 4A State XC Finals in 4:24.9 (4-second PR).

Robinson's Tatiana Fabian was the first girl finisher in 5:46.9
