FHSAA Seeks bids to host State Track and Field Meet for 2016-2017

DyeStatFL.com - Change is coming to the venue for the 2016-2107 State Track and Field meet.  Since 2012 the State Track and Field meet has been held at Hodges Stadium on the campus of the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida.  For athletes, fans and media, it's been a glorious 3 year stint but rather taxing for the staff and facility at North Florida.  

The first year at North Florida saw the somewhat traditional 2 weekends of competition, with separate days of competition for each of Florida's 4 classes.  Change came in 2013 with a condensed schedule and a single weekend of competition combining Classes 1 and 2 on Friday and 3 and 4 on Saturday.  Although this was initially met with skepticism and surely had its challenges for meet management, the condensed schedule was widely accepted a success.

The FHSAA is now seeking bids for the 2016-2017 State Meets.  The application deadline to the FHSAA runs through October 7th.
