Nikki Carroll is in New York City for New Balance Nationals Indoor.  The Tampa Catholic senior and University of South Florida recruit will be blogging some thoughts along the way as she sets her sights on going up n' over in the Pole Vault.

Blog Post 1 - Saturday Night

I love jumping at the Armory. It is great to get as much experience here as possible because I know I will be back to compete with USF next year.   The armory runs a great meet the announcers are so exciting and the seats are perfect for viewing the vault up close. My goal of this meet is the same as every other meet, jump higher than my PR. I've been practicing in Florida with Coach Bobby at PoleVaultCity and I will spend time today with coach St. Lawrence at the Barn in Warwick, New York.  I'm also bringing a couple more poles with me since the last time that I was here and jumped my 13'1.5" PR. 

Blog Post 2 - Monday

Competing at the New Balance Nationals was a great experience. I did not jump as well as I had hoped, and I got 8th place with a jump of 12'8.75". My next meet is Florida relays in a few weeks and I plan to jump the FL outdoor record there. Also congratulations to Kristen Denk for jumping 13'8.5" to get first.
