Union Catholic relays roll at Marine Corps

RESULTS
The Union Catholic quartet of Jordan Jimerson, Obafemi Animashaun, Steve Franco and Taylor McLaughlin won the 4x200 and 4x400 to establish early season US#1s in both events on Saturday at the Marine Corps Holiday Classic on Saturday at The Armory in New York City.
UC, of New Jersey, won three national relay titles last year at New Balance Indoor Nationals. On Saturday, the team ran the 4x200 final in 1:28.71 and the 4x400 in a meet record 3:17.87.
More meet highlights included:
- Chaminade's Sean Kelly ran about 4:16 to lead his team to the distance medley relay title as the Flyers clocked a US#1 time of 10:15.89.
- Fordham Prep's boys (32.01) and Kellenberg's girls (33.80) won the shuttle hurdles titles.
- Christian Brothers (N.J.) won the 4x800 in 8:08.08 and Rahway (N.J.) won the sprint medley in 3:35.05.
- Girls relays titles went to Cheltenham, which won the 4x200 (1:42.35), Strath Haven in the 4x400 (4:03.77) and 4x800 (9:31.94), Sacred Heart of Long Island in the sprint medley (4:16.59) and Warwick Valley in the distance medley (12:24.33).
- Emma Gallagher of Garden City beat Kellenberg's Jazmine Fray in a competitive 800, breaking the tape in 2:13.61.
- Richard Rose of Boys & Girls ran 1:55.08 to win the boys 800.
- In the mile steeplechase, it was Miller Place's Jeremy Miekley (4:44.52) and Newburgh's Kalleigh Forrester (5:43.29) getting the wins in the second year of indoor steepling at The Armory.
