Sandie Raines, who finished second at the Class 5A cross country state championships three weeks ago behind A&M Consolidated’s Karis Jochen, qualified with the fellow senior for the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships National Finals.

The two finished in the top 10 at the FLCCC South Regional over the weekend in Charlotte, N.C . Raines finished seventh overall, posting a time of 17:12. Her time was better than her runner-up finish at state.

A week earlier, Raines finished second to Jochen at the Nike Cross National South Regional, while Kingwood placed third in the team standings.
