First things first: The proposal to pull out the world class, all-weather track at Alamo Stadium to make room for a soccer field that meets FIFA specifications is a harebrained idea that should have been squashed immediately. 

Unfortunately, it wasn’t. 

And that, in a nutshell, is why the pending renovation at Alamo Stadium has become such a contentious issue for taxpayers in the San Antonio Independent School District.
