You can harm your hamstring or strain your groin. You can hurt your hip or be bothered by blisters. You can develop shin splints, sustain stress fractures and be plagued by plantar fasciitis.

Quite frankly, a lot of things can go wrong when you go running.

And that's not even counting the plethora of pitfalls that can befall a competitor during a race, like being tripped or shoved or simply being sidelined by exhaustion.

But Emma Ashby discovered that even when you avoid all those obstacles, you can still find yourself on the ground and out of the race and wondering what the heck just happened.
