Last week at the Eastern Massachusetts State Cross Country Championships, Lincoln-Subury senior Ariel Keklak and senior Margie Cullen of Needham battled it out, with Cullen prevailing for the victory, winning by four seconds.

Saturday at the MIAA All State Championships, Keklak made sure not to have a repeat of last weekend. The Wake Forest-bound distance runner captured first-place in the Division 1 race in 17 minutes, 25.15 seconds at Stanley Park in Westfield. Julia Curtin of Beverly was second in 17:26.21, while Cullen took third (17:33.77). In total, six girls clocked under 18 minutes in the 5,000-meter race.

While Keklak took the individual win, it was Cullen and Needham claiming the team title. Neeham scored 116 points to barely edge out Lincoln-Subury (117) to win the program's third straight title.

In the division 1 boys' race, Wellesley senior Thomas D'Anieri followed up his Eastern state title with another strong performance as he crossed the line first in 15:16.10 to win by more than 10 seconds.

Marcelo Rocha of Peabody was second (15:27.08).

In the team race, Lowell dominated, scoring 64 points as four runners placed in the top 20.

In the Division 2 girls race, Sarah Edwards of Bellingham took home the individual win in 18:12.58. The team championship went to Milton (58) had two runners in the top 5 and three in the top 20 overall.

In the boys race, Marblehead senior Andrew Ernst ran the second fastest time of the day overall, as he finished first in 15:21.16 to claim the D2 crown. Marblehead won the team title as well with an impressive 51 points. Runner-up was Melrose (143).
