Saturday

 

- Rai Benjamin ran a US#1 51.29 but was edge out for the win by Jamaican Marvin Williams, who ran 51.10. For Benjamin it's a new PR.

 

- T.C. Williams ran US#1 3:12.17 in the heats of the 4x400 with Noah and Josesphus Lyles BOTH running 45-point spilts. Other top times from U.S. teams came from Union Catholic NJ (3:17.57) and Bowie MD (3:17.65). Cheltenham PA ran US#19 3:15.86 in the Suburban American section for the fastest U.S. time.

 

- Florida high school pro Kaylin Whitney ran on the anchor leg of the USA women's 4x100 relay but was beaten to the tape by the Jamaicans in a close one, 43.70 to 43.79.

 

- The Cheltenham PA girls won the Tri-State 4x100 relay in US#14 46.60. Pennsbury PA was second in 46.96.

 

- While Jamaica took the top four spots in the championship boys 4x100 relay, T.C. Williams VA got fifth with US#5 40.84.

 

- Nordhoff CA got a 1:52.98 leg on the anchor from Cameron Kunde as the team finished third behind two Jamaican teams in the 4x800 relay championship. Nordhoff moved behind Great Oak to US#2.

 

- In the boys championship 4x400, TC Williams VA and Cheltenham PA were the only U.S. entrants and they finished fourth and fifth out of seven teams. Noah Lyles split 45.4 on the second leg and his brother Josephus spit 46.22 on the anchor as their team totaled 3:13.97 with two other legs over 50 seconds. John Lewis split 47.00 for Cheltenham, which ran 3:15.39. The winning team was Calabar Jamaica with a 3:09.97.

 

 

Friday

 

Nordhoff CA had the fastest overall time in the boys 4x800 relay with 7:52.12 out of the small-school section.

 

- Western Branch VA's girls 4x800 finished second in the championship 4x800, spurred by a big 2:07.83 anchor by Amanda Thomas. Western Branch's 9:07.71 is US#1. Holmwood Tech of Jamaica won it with 9:01.31.

 

- Jamaican girls 4x100 teams swept the top four places but Long Beach Poly CA -- as usual -- was the top U.S. squad in this event. Poly ran 46.66. Edwin Allen of Jamaica ran 45.40 for the win. 

 

- While Jamaican teams put four in the top five of the girls 4x400 relay championship, Nansemond River VA ran US#2 3:43.03 to grab third place. Western Branch VA was sixth in 3:46.21.

 

- La Salle RI boys put together a DMR championship victory with 10:12.10, which is US#4. It was neck and neck with McDonogh School MD the entire way, with ancor Jack Salisbury (4:14.52) holding on for a victory over Mikey Singer (4:14.49) by just .09 seconds. 

 

- A year after his breakthrough victory in the 3,000 meters, Andrew Hunter from Loudoun Valley VA won the mile championship with PR and US#2 4:07.15. Mikey Brannigan of Northport NY was second with 4:09.61 and Diego Zarate of Northwest MD was third with 4:09.69.

 

- Alex Ostberg from Darien CT ran US#8 8:23.95 to win the 3,000 meters championship.

 

- Trevor Detillion from Unioto OH threw a new US#1 in the discus with 203-6. 

 

- Denzel Pratt from the Bahamas won the boys javelin competition (208-8) and Williamsburg PA's Michael Biddle was next with 200-1.

 

- Sophomore Jordan Geist from Knoch Senior PA won the boys shot put with 68-1.25. 

 

Thursday

 

- Brooklyn Broadwater from Springside PA tied the US#1 time in the 400 hurdles with 1:00.69. 

 

- Western Branch VA girls ran US#2 9:09.43 in the 4x800 relay. 

 

- Long Beach Poly CA ran 47.23 in the 4x100 relay for the second-fastest time in the heats. Edwin Allen of Jamaica posted the fastest time, 46.26.

 

- Virginians Kate Murphy (Lake Braddock) and Libby Davidson (E.C. Glass) went 1-2 in the girls 3,000 with US#1 9:32.82 and US#2 9:34.12. 

 

- Malia Ellington of Davidson NC won the girls mile with US#15 4:54.38. 

 

- Patriot VA won the girls DMR championship with US#4 11:51.85. Rachel McArthur anchored in 4:50.16.

 

- Alyssa Wilson from Monsignor Donovan NJ was third overall and the top U.S. thrower in the girls discus with US#16 149-2. The winning thow came from Jamaican Paul-Anne Gayle with 170-5.

 

- Jackie McNulty from Oakdale MD won the girls pole vault with 12-3.50.

 

- Jewel Smith of Western Branch VA was the third place finisher in the long jump with 19-0.75, finishing behind two Jamaicans. Shanice Lewis of Edwin Allen won it with 20-0.50.

 

- Marie-Josee Ebwea-Bile of Benjamin Carodozo NY jumped US#1 42-1.25 on the way to third place in the triple jump. That's a new all-time state best for New York. Tamara Moncrieffe of Homewood Tech Jamaica tied the meet record with 43-10 for the win.

 

- Cyre Virgo of Fleetwood PA won the girls high jump with a clearance at US#3 5-11.50 -- just one inch shy of the 25-year-old meet record.

 

- Nicolette Dunbar of Whippany Park NJ won the girls shot put with US#1 50-8. It was a 2-foot PR.

 

- Sophia Rivera of Brentwood MO threw 169-6 to win the girls javein as the top three surpassed the Penn Relays record. Rivera already threw 175-10 earlier this week and is the national leader. Madison Wiltrout of Connellsville PA was second with US#2 168-5.
