Here is an event-by-event breakdown of what to look for in these girls track events Friday and Saturday at the 48th Arcadia Invitational:

100-meter dash (6:40 p.m. Saturday)
Favorite: Rio Mesa's Zaria Francis. Might have a slight edge on the straightaway with a wind-legal 11.59, but her start will be key.
Other contenders: Oaks Christian's Lauren Rain Williams, Mission Hills' Suzie Acolatse. Don't be surprised if either individual sprints to the victory in what should be a preview of the state final.
Sleeper: Audra Koopman (Colorado). Fort Collins star has run 11.92 into a headwind.

200 meters (8:25 p.m. Saturday)
Favorite: Oaks Christian's Lauren Rain Williams. The national leader under all conditions at 23.43, could deliver one of the signature performances of the meet.
Other contenders: Rio Mesa's Zaria Francis, Mission Hills' Suzie Acolatse. Will have to keep up with Williams on the curve to have a chance down the stretch.
Sleeper: Kaysha Love (Utah). Herriman standout won the 200 title last year with a 24.11.

400 meters (7 p.m. Saturday)
Favorite: Buchanan's Hannah Waller. Has already run 54.95 outdoors and has the best closing speed, having also run 11.97 in the 100.
Other contenders: Paul Robeson's (New York) Amanda Crawford, Vanden's Malia Bryant, St. Mary's Stockton's Schantel Williams. Bryant won the Stanford Invitational, Williams won the Cal State Sacramento Track Classic and Crawford has clocked 54.95 indoors.
Sleeper: Piedmont Hills' Timarya Baynard. Following a great indoor season, this will be her first significant outdoor challenge.

800 meters (6:50 p.m. Saturday)
Favorite: Clovis North's Mikaela Smith. Two-time state champion looking to repeat at Arcadia in first significant outdoor 800 challenge this season.
Other contenders: Huntington Beach's Cassie Durgy, Lakeside's (Washington) Sophie Cantine, Canada's Ginelle DeMone. DeMone has a personal-best of 2:08.78, Cantine was strong throughout indoor season and Durgy is state outdoor leader and U.S. No. 6 at 2:11.19.
Sleeper: Arianna Lord (New Zealand). St. Peters Cambridge talent has a personal-best 2:11.45 outdoors, with a 2:11.73 earlier this year.

1 Mile (5:49 p.m. Saturday)
Favorite: Bigfork's (Montana) Bryn Morley. Freshman took third in deepest mile field so far this season at NIKE Chandler Rotary Invitational and is a fearless competitor.
Other contenders: Air Academy's (Colorado) Katie Rainsberger, Tesoro's Amanda Gehrich, Palisades' Marissa Williams, Great Oak's Destiny Collins. California stars are all capable of winning and will likely have to break 4:50 in order to do so. Gehrich looks to back up her win at Azusa Meet of Champions, which secured a trip to the adidas Dream Mile. Rainsberger ran 4:52.34 to edge Morley (4:52.86) for second at the NIKE Chandler Rotary Invitational and recently returned from the IAAF World Junior Cross Country Championships in China.
Sleeper: Lauren Gregory (Colorado). Fort Collins standout is more recognized for her strength at the longer distances, but is more than capable of winning any elite race.

3,200 meters (8:40 p.m. Saturday)
Favorite: Desert Vista's (Arizona) Dani Jones. The national mile leader has decided to focus on testing herself against great 3200 field, with aspirations of eclipsing 10-minute barrier.
Other contenders: Palisades' Marissa Williams, Davis Senior's Fiona O'Keeffe, Boise's (Idaho) Emily Hamlin. All three runners are capable of running faster than 10:15, but will really have to push themselves to defeat Jones.
Sleeper: Sonoma Academy's Rylee Bowen. Freshman phenom is national outdoor leader at 3,000 meters and is eager to take on a big challenge against a veteran field.

100-meter hurdles (6:24 p.m. Saturday)
Favorite: Parkland's (North Carolina) Ebony Williams. Has run U.S. No. 5 wind-legal 13.84 and has plenty of big-meet experience.
Other contenders: Roosevelt's Jasmyne Graham, Hoover's (Alabama) Brittley Humphrey and Caitlyn Little. Hoover tandem should be in the hunt, along with Graham, the only other entry to post a wind-legal mark under 14 seconds this season.
Sleeper: Vacaville's Jurnee Woodward. A member of national-record shuttle hurdles relay at last year's meet is coming off victory into a strong headwind at Stanford Invitational.

300-meter hurdles (7:29 p.m. Saturday)
Favorite: Vacaville's Jurnee Woodward. Last year's seeded runner-up has clocked U.S. No. 6 42.53 for 300 hurdles and U.S. No. 2 1:01.16 for 400 hurdles, so she's ready to deliver a big race.
Other contenders: Liberty's Morganne Hill, North Canyon's (Arizona) Jasmine Stauffacher-Gray, Cathedral Catholic's Hannah LaBrie-Smith. All three athletes are capable of running under 43 seconds and all return after finishing in the top five at last year's meet.
Sleeper: Gunn's Maya Miklos. She'll run in the seeded heat, but after posting a national-leading 1:00.69 in the 400 hurdles at Stanford Invitational, don't be surprised if her time is comparable to the winner of the fast heat.

4 x 100 relay (5:37 p.m. Saturday)
Favorite: Oaks Christian. Was national leader at 45.94 until Miami Northwestern ran 45.67 at Florida Relays. Will be motivated to regain top spot.
Other contenders: Long Beach Poly, Roosevelt. Expect California to be represented well in the race, with both programs looking to close the gap on Oaks Christian.
Sleeper: Parkland (North Carolina). With strong performance Friday in 4 x 200 relay, could build momentum for Saturday's race.

4 x 200 relay (5:42 p.m. Friday)
Favorite: Parkland (North Carolina). Posted U.S. No. 13 1:39.53 at the Apex Relays to build momentum for Arcadia.
Other contenders: Paul Robeson Campus (New York), Nansemond River (Virginia), Serra. Paul Robeson and Nansemond River both ran under 1:40 indoors, with Serra clocking 1:40.37 outdoors.
Sleeper: Oaks Christian. Ran U.S. No. 7 1:38.56 more than a month ago, but doesn't appear to be fielding its best lineup, looking to concentrate more on the 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 instead.

4 x 400 relay (9:32 p.m. Saturday)
Favorite: Roosevelt. Ran U.S. No. 6 3:47.49 in a dual meet with a group that continues to improve, especially freshman Tahlia Adams.
Other contenders: Paul Robeson Campus (New York), Nansemond River (Virginia), Parkland (North Carolina), Oaks Christian. All 3 out-of-state entries have run under 3:50 indoors or outdoors, with Oaks Christian putting together its top lineup to challenge for the title.
Sleeper: Arcadia. The host school is coming off a strong performance at Spartan Relays and will be inspired to excel in front of the local fans.

4 x 800 relay (4:44 p.m. Friday)
Favorite: Hoover (Alabama). Ran U.S. No. 3 9:21.72 at Mobile Challenge of Champions in final tuneup before Arcadia.
Other contenders: Clovis North, Great Oak, Riverside Poly. All three California programs have impressive lineups, especially Clovis North, which should be anchored by two-time state 800 champion Mikaela Smith, who led the Broncos to last year's title.
Sleeper: Redondo Union. If coach Bob Leetch puts Amber Gore and Anevay Hiehle in this relay lineup, then last year's Arcadia runner-up will be in contention again.

4 x 1,600 relay (7:48 p.m. Friday)
Favorite: Desert Vista (Arizona). With three girls under 5 minutes, led by national mile leader Dani Jones, the Thunder could challenge the prestigious 20-minute barrier.
Other contenders: Great Oak, Saugus. Both former Arcadia champions have the depth to put together lineups to win another title, but a lot will be asked of Great Oak's Destiny Collins and Saugus' Sabrina Janes to make that dream a reality.
Sleeper: Yorkville (Illinois). Coming off impressive performances indoors at Illinois Top Times, team is poised for big outdoor showcase under the lights.

800-meter sprint medley relay (6:55 p.m. Friday)
Favorite: St. Mary's Academy. With Aliyah Hale, Anaiah Brown and Kyra Anderson all entered in multiple relays, this could be the best opportunity for St. Mary's to capture gold.
Other contenders: Nansemond River (Virginia), Redondo Union. Both teams have the ability to close strong and should be in contention on the last lap.
Sleeper: Mountain Pointe (Arizona). Brittany Patterson and Autumn Smith could be enough for Mountain Pointe to secure a victory.

1,600-meter sprint medley relay (7:16 p.m. Friday)
Favorite: Los Alamitos. The Griffins posted a national-leading 4:04.69 at the California Relays, but will likely have to run under 4 minutes to win the title.
Other contenders: North Canyon (Arizona), St. Mary's Berkeley. North Canyon has Jasmine Stauffacher-Gray and Drianna Mustin, with St. Mary's boasting Chloe Jenkins. Plenty of star power to capture the title.
Sleeper: Centennial (Nevada). With only Holli Dunn returning from last year's Arcadia champions, it could be difficult for the Bulldogs to repeat.

Distance medley relay (7:35 p.m. Saturday)
Favorite: Great Oak. With national-leading Campolindo not expected to run the same lineup it did at the Stanford Invitational, U.S. No. 4 Great Oak has great potential to win the title if it runs the same lineup it did at Texas Relays.
Other contenders: Davis (Utah), Tesoro, Saugus. All great distance programs with strong 1,200 and 1,600 legs capable of starting fast and finishing strong.
Sleeper: Palos Verdes. With Jacquelyn Smith now eligible, expect big things from a Palos Verdes lineup that should also include Camille Hines.

4 x 100 shuttle hurdles relay (6:23 p.m. Friday)
Favorite: Hoover (Alabama). Caitlyn Little and Brittley Humphrey give the Buccaneers a great chance to break 1-minute barrier.
Other contenders: Cathedral Catholic. Hannah Labrie-Smith continues to improve for Dons and could put them in title contention.
Sleeper: Carson. Jeanette Paul has potential to lift Colts to victory.
